Project Description: The primary goals of this renovation project were to upgrade the overall quality of the facility, and to create playing conditions as similar as possible to the recently renovated Stan Sheriff competition arena on campus. New logos, staining and striping conventions were used to update the university’s branding, with an enhanced look and color scheme utilizing advanced and innovative techniques. Given the prevalence of termite damage in many gyms on the islands, the university followed our recommendations to treat both the subfloor and maple strip to ensure the longevity of the floors for years to come. Athletes at the university are happy to now train and compete at an optimal level in a first-class facility.
The University of Hawaii project showcases Connor® Sports hardwood flooring in a university athletic setting. College athletic facilities need court systems that perform under pressure, support athletes, and represent the institution with a professional appearance.
Connor® Sports hardwood courts are designed for basketball, volleyball, training, and multipurpose sports use. A premium court system can help deliver consistent playability, dependable durability, and strong visual impact. For universities, the right flooring investment supports athletes, coaches, fans, and facility operations.
This project reflects Connor® Sports’ experience in delivering hardwood athletic flooring solutions for competitive programs and high-visibility sports environments.
