RETROFLEX™

Retrofit Maple Sports Flooring System Built to Address Uneven Substrates Without Extensive Concrete Leveling

The Connor Sports RetroFlex™ Specialty Hardwood System is a resilient hardwood athletic flooring system engineered for gymnasium renovations, basketball courts, volleyball courts, school athletic facilities, recreation centers, fieldhouses, and multipurpose sports facilities where existing concrete conditions create challenges for traditional hardwood sports floor installation.

RetroFlex™ is specifically engineered for retrofit installations using specially machined LVL plywood sleepers and Quick-Level Blocks to help address uneven substrates commonly found in renovation projects. This design can reduce the need for extensive concrete leveling or grinding, helping facility owners and contractors simplify hardwood gym floor replacement while maintaining premium maple athletic flooring performance.

At the surface, RetroFlex™ features Connor Laytite Maple, manufactured from MFMA Northern Hard Maple, delivering the durability, appearance, ball response, and playability expected from a premium hardwood basketball court floor. Beneath the maple surface, the system includes a minimum 6-mil polyethylene vapor barrier, Connor Rezill recycled rubber pads, tapered Quick-Level Adjustment Blocks, RetroFlex laminated sleepers, and APA-rated plywood subfloor sheathing.

RetroFlex™ is built around adjustability and renovation efficiency. The system uses 1-3/8" x 2-1/2" x 8' laminated RetroFlex sleepers manufactured with Quick-Level slots for block placement, allowing installers to adjust the sleeper surface to proper flatness tolerance. With profile height options of 3" with 25/32" maple flooring and 15/32" plywood, or 3-1/4" with 25/32" maple flooring and 23/32" plywood, RetroFlex™ gives architects, contractors, athletic directors, and facility owners a practical solution for retrofit hardwood sports flooring projects.

The product flyer identifies RetroFlex™ as a specialty hardwood system supported by certified testing through ISS Scientific Body Membership, ISO 14001:2015 manufacturing, recycled content contribution, United States Sports Surfacing Laboratory testing, and managed forest certification availability.
