Duracushion™ III is assembled using standard 3/8" Duracushion PVC resilient pads, nominal 2" x 3" softwood sleepers, and APA-rated plywood sheathing to create a practical floating floor system for athletic and multipurpose facilities. This sleeper-based construction provides a resilient foundation beneath the maple surface while maintaining a straightforward system design for cost-conscious gym floor projects.
At the surface, Duracushion™ III features Connor Laytite Maple, manufactured from MFMA Northern Hard Maple, delivering the classic appearance, durability, ball response, and playability expected from a premium hardwood basketball court floor. Beneath the maple surface, the system includes a minimum 6-mil polyethylene vapor barrier, Duracushion pads, softwood sleepers with pads attached 12" on center, and one layer of 15/32" APA-rated plywood sheathing.
Duracushion™ III offers practical profile height options based on pad selection, including a 3-1/8" profile height with 25/32" maple flooring and 3/8" pad, or a 3-3/8" profile height with 25/32" maple flooring and 5/8" pad.
